The energy sector is undergoing significant transformation driven by sustainability goals and technological advancements. This necessitates reevaluating project management methodologies. Traditional approaches may no longer suffice in addressing flexibility needs. Agile methodologies offer a promising alternative to enhance project performance through iterative planning, stakeholder collaboration, and team empowerment. While agile adoption presents challenges in the highly regulated Indian energy sector, hybrid models combining agile and traditional methods are emerging as balanced solutions. The selection of appropriate methodologies should be based on project-specific factors. As the sector evolves, project managers must adapt approaches to enhance agility, resilience and overall performance in addressing complex challenges.
