Digital inclusion is now emerging as an essential aspect in promoting women's entrepreneurship, specifically in rural women's entrepreneurship. Although research attention has been drawn towards the topic of women's entrepreneurship, little attention has been paid to the issue of digital exclusion of rural women entrepreneurs. This paper highlights some of the barriers to using digital technologies in rural women entrepreneurship and provides a comprehensive theoretical framework that explains the impact of the digital resource and capability gaps on the outcomes of entrepreneurship. In this paper, the role of social constraints, inadequate infrastructure, education limitations, economic problems and technology fear in hampering women from utilizing digital technologies for entrepreneurship purposes is highlighted. Based on literature review and secondary source analysis, the present paper draws attention towards the promising role of digital inclusion in enhancing market linkage, financial inclusion, performance and empowerment of rural women. Moreover, this paper presents some policy recommendations for improving digital capabilities.
